BWSC at the 2023 World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam

Last week, BWSC attended the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam.

The World Hydrogen Summit is the leading global platform for hydrogen business. From 9 to 11 of May, the Sustainable Energy Council together with the local governments of Rotterdam and the Netherlands, welcomed over 11,500 decision makers from over 100 countries, to share and discuss their hydrogen deals and project developments, with the goal of showcasing real action towards green energy and motivating the rest of the world to join in.

This year, BWSC participated in this Summit, as part of the Danish Pavilion organized by DI, representing one of the faces of green hydrogen in Denmark. We got to share our exciting energy green solutions and especially enjoyed discussing our Power-to-Hydrogen projects with a great community of like-minded individuals and companies from all over the world.

We hope to return next year with even more interesting initiatives and projects to share.

BWSC hosts tour of Copenhill for Japanese Chambers of Commerce in Scandinavia

On 3 March, BWSC arranged a tour of the Amager Resource Centre (ARC) in Copenhagen, for members of the Japanese Chambers of Commerce in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. The ARC, which BWSC provides long-term technical advisory and maintenance services for, is a waste treatment facility that produces district heating and electricity for tens of thousands of households.

The tour began with a warm welcome speech in Japanese by their CEO, Mr. Jacob Hartvig Simonsen, who has experience studying in Japan. He provided an interesting and impressive presentation, and more than 20 participants enjoyed looking around the plant.

BWSC is expanding its role as a provider of comprehensive technical, operation, and advisory services for power plants and green energy facilities, as the global energy sector continues to evolve rapidly.

About ARC
ARC, also known as Copenhill, is an iconic architectural masterpiece designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). This stunning structure boasts a visually appealing exterior and a grass skiing roof, which makes it truly unique. However, what sets Copenhill apart is its unwavering commitment to safety and environmental sustainability, which is reflected in its thoughtful design. With every aspect of its contruction meticulously planned, Copenhill stands as a testament to the possibility of creating beautiful and functional structures that also prioritize safety and sustainability.

Power Plant Fuel Conversion in Guam

Reducing the environmental impacts and pollution of power plants is at the heart of BWSC’s activities to always provide “Ever better energy”.

There are many ways to act and that is the case of Guam Power Authority (GPA) and Marianas Energy Co. (MEC) who selected BWSC to convert their 2-stroke generation units from Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) to Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) on Piti Power Plant.

Now that the project is completed, the SOx emissions will drastically decrease by 99% or more, together with particulates by approximately 50%, and CO2 emissions by roughly 70%. The local air quality for nearby residents and the environment will notably improve due to the pollution’s reduction.

This project is part of GPA’s Clean Energy Master Plan to use cleaner fuel and complies with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and will also ensure that the facility continue to operate in the many years to come.

We look forward to a successful cooperation with Green Hydrogen Systems.

Cooperation Agreement with Harvest Waste

We are proud to announce that BWSC on December 7th has entered into a Cooperation Agreement with Harvest Waste the operation of high efficiency energy-from-waste plants.

Harvest Waste, which is based in Amsterdam, develops clean waste to energy projects in developing countries in the Middle East, Asia and other regions, based on their patented and proven High Efficiency technology.

This milestone in BWSC’s strategic journey will path our way to improving the living standards of local communities by eliminating the hazardous threats of landfill accumulation and using waste as a resource to generate power.

Our cooperation also involves the development of Plant 4.0, which is our common vision for a future digital platform for plant monitoring and performance.

With this partnership we combine the best of both worlds: state-of-the-art technology and decades of solid experience within power plant optimization. We are looking forward to our partnership!

BWSC in Power-to-Hydrogen project in Denmark

We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Andel for the Glansager project near Sønderborg, DK.

The project includes a power-to-hydrogen plant where the hydrogen will be utilized to upgrade biogas from the existing Glansager biogas plant, owned by Nature Energy.

Biogas typically contains around 40% CO2 that is normally extracted from the biogas and vented to the atmosphere. However, the CO2 may be converted to natural gas by adding hydrogen thereby dramatically increasing the yield of the biogas plant.

The hydrogen plant will be supplied by Andel, and BWSC is acting as sub-supplier of mechanical balance-of-plant equipment and installation.

Read more about the project in Energy Supply here.
