We are proud to announce the successful completion and receipt of a Take-Over Certificate (TOC) for a complex engine refurbishment project at Dhekelia Power Station, powered by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) in Cyprus.
Following operational challenges at the plant, BWSC inspected the unit and identified a displacement in one of the engine’s crankshafts.
After the public tendering round, BWSC was awarded the project in late 2024, based on our findings, technical expertise, and turnkey solution.
Through close and efficient collaboration with the facility owners, throughout 2025 and into early 2026, we have successfully replaced the crankshaft and safely brought the unit back into operation. With an efficient start-up and stable performance, the power plant is now fully operational again, delivering its full capacity of 18 MW, contributing to the electricity capacity in Cyprus.
A huge thank you to our dedicated site personnel and fitter teams for their commitment, craftsmanship, and passion in getting the engine back up and running.
Thank you to EAC for placing their trust in BWSC and for the smooth cooperation throughout the project. We are proud to have supported the re-establishment of such a critical power asset.
